SEDNA MYTHOLOGY CONCEPT ART

Sedna is the Inuit goddess of the sea and marine life. As a child, she was constantly starving; so much so that her parents became afraid that one day their daughter would turn on them. Her father took her out in his kayak and threw her into the ocean. When she tried to pull herself back into the boat, he chopped her fingers off. From her severed fingers came the seals and the whales. She sunk to the ocean floor and became a spirit of unrest and vengeance. Every few years, the local Inuit shaman would find Sedna and perform a placating ritual, combing her hair and bringing a time of peace to their people.

THE HUMPBACK OF NOTRE DAME

A reimagining of Victor Hugo's Hunchback of Notre Dame set in a coral reef. Quasimodo is a humpback whale trapped in his "ca-reef-dral," longing to be with the reef community.

The gallery begins with initial concept art and moves onto set and claymation design.
